Own Your Weird Workshop

An interactive experience to help inspire any sport, team, or club!

Using the basic principles of improv comedy and my experience as a professional athlete, I’ll help your team…

Work as a Team

Improv is all about using “Yes, And!” to listen and work together. We’ll use games to help translate these skills to your sport.

Stop Overthinking

Overstressed about what you’re doing at practice? Me too! Let’s get out of our heads & comfort zones, and into our bodies.

Get Inspired

Throughout the workshop, I’ll share stories from my running career to show how I have used these techniques in action!

PLAY Your Sport

If we don’t remember to enjoy what we’re doing in our sport, we’re doing it wrong. Plain and simple.

Practice Patience

The best part about improv is that it’s unplanned, so we’ll work our muscles that help flex patience.

Get Into Your Body

Too often we’ve forgotten to trust what our bodies are telling us we are capable of. It’s time to remember to listen!

Manage Nerves

Freaking out about competition day? Me too! I’ll teach you some simple techniques to help harness the excitement.

Own Your Weird

You’re unique and impossible to compare to others. Let’s celebrate this and be a rookie at something new!

Each workshop is catered to your team’s unique needs on the…

...field, court, track, course, ice, stage!

FAQs

  • Neither! In fact, the less you try to be funny, the better the workshop goes because improv is all about learning how to take moments as they come and practice being in the moment. I do my best to facilitate a supportive environment for everyone regardless of their experience.

  • I can utilize virtually any space you have available at your facility that has enough room for a group to move around. We can be inside or outside, weather permitting.

  • I’m flexible in working with your team’s usual practice schedule and times, or I can usually coordinate for a weekend workshop.

  • Great question! Most people think “stand-up” when they hear comedy. Being alone on stage telling jokes terrifies me, which is why I prefer improv comedy, a team form of play on stage. Improv comedy is unscripted and made up on the spot. Think “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?” I love improv because it works so many different skills but most importantly, is simply PLAY!

  • There is more overlap than you’d think! Improv works the muscles of patience, listening, teamwork, focus, and play…all needed for sports!

  • I loved this activity so much! I think it really helped the team bond!

    Middle School Cross Country

  • In a way it kind of made playing and warm up more fun because it reminded me I was just playing soccer with my friends.

    High School Soccer

  • Coach Brittany really brought the energy and filled the room with laughter while still teaching with purpose.

    High School Track & Field

  • I felt like this workshop really helped me with my confidence in decision making during my soccer games, as well as built trust and team chemistry within the team.
